The End of the Year || Book Tag ☕️

☕️ Hi, guys! I hope you’re having the best day and are enjoying your readings! HAPPY MONDAY.❤️ Every year I decide to do this tag because it’s A LOT of fun and a perfect way to summarize a little this end of the year and also order my thoughts. This last month of the year has arrived and I’ve planned so many fun posts to share with you, but I thought it would be right to start with this one. 😊 I know that most of you have made this tag a little earlier, the previous month, but since I haven’t had time, I’ve decided to do it anyway. I know everyone knows what this “The End of the Year” tag is about, I won’t make of this a long introduction so, we’ll jump right into the questions! I’m excited & hope you enjoy it!☕️

💫 Are there any books you started this year that you need to finish? 💫

Not really, I don’t tend to start multiple books at once, although it’s something I would like to start doing next year. There are so many things that I want to read that I feel that maybe in this way I can find more favorites and read a little faster, but until today I usually concentrate on one book at a time and then go for another. If I don’t decide to continue with a book that I’m reading, I mark it as DNF and if one day I decide to pick it up again then that will be fine, but I don’t put much pressure on myself to finish them if I don’t feel well when reading them, you know?

The only book that DNFed this year and I plan to give it a second chance is Serpent & Dove by Shelby Mahurin, I found it very heavy so I put it down, but I’m still interested in the story and I’ve heard the best things, so I’ll give it another chance, but probably next year

💫 Do you have an autumnal book to transition into the end of the year? 💫

In fact, I’m transitioning from spring to summer, so in the next few months I’ll probably add something lighter or a little more romance to my TBRs, I have some contemporaries too that I would like to read at this time of year. I don’t usually give much importance to the seasons when planning my readings because I’m always on the opposite side of most, so I don’t get carried away by that, but it’s true that in winter I usually read more fantasy or bigger books while now In summer I would like something lighter.
I have a LOT of fantasy to read in my TBR this month, so that’s why I also chose Red White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston to have something lighter and easier to read.

💫 Is there a new release you’re still waiting for? 💫

My most anticipated books have already been released, although I do have a small list of them that I still don’t own and I’d love to, so I could share that with you & also this month there are 3 new releases that seem super interesting, if you want to know a little more about them, I’ll leave my December Book Releases post here for you to check out

Exciting new releases that I still don’t own

💫 What are three books you want to read before the end of the year?💫

You probably already know those books I want to read if you’ve seen my December TBRDecember TBR, but there are three of them that I’m really determined to read before the year ends and they’re: The Queen of Nothing by Holly Black, A Conjuring of Light by VE Schwab & Thunderhead by Neal Shusterman

💫 Is there a book you think could still shock you and become your favourite book of the year? 💫

I don’t want to be repetitive, but I think Thunderhead could absolutely surprise me, especially since I’ve heard it’s better than the first book, and I LOVED Scythe, so my expectations are high for that book. I also think that the others I’ve planned to read could really be a great and pleasant surprise, but I don’t know if anyone will become a favorite, but we’ll see…

💫 Have you already started making reading plans for 2020? 💫

Of course! It’s like everything I’ve been doing these last weeks. I’ll post a separate post telling you my goals for the next year, but I can tell you little bit as far as reading plans: I’ll surely be focusing on genre that I enjoy and I want to read more Mystery because despite being a genre that I LOVE, I’ve read very little this year, so I would like to read more, I’ll also be going for more on my reading goal for the year, I want to read more because I feel I’m capable so I will do it! & I finally want to start reading those old and super popular series, but I’m at the same time, planning a new series about that for the blog, so I’m super excited to tell you and I can’t wait!
Then I have more things planned for the blog and also in terms of writing and I’ll tell you much more in my post dedicated to my 2020 goals

  1. Great answers! This tag is one of my favorite part of December, it’s always nice to see other people wrapping up their reading year 😀 I tend to not make a really strict reading plan, but next year, I want to reread and finish some old series! The Lunar Chronicles, Evernight, and Need are some of the series on top of my head that I need to finish 🙂

    1. I’m glad you liked it and YES, totally, I think the same, is super fun to see everyone’s answers 😍
That’s great! I understand why you don’t want to put together any reading plan but reading old series is incredible, I also want to do that! I wish you all the luck in the world for your 2020, honey ❤️

  2. One of the things I’d like to do more next year is to DNF books sooner. It seems like I’m scared to classify them as “DNF” and try to push through instead.
Also, this was probably the first year of me reading multiple books at the same time. Currently I’m reading 4 😀
Not sure if I like this or not, but I end up picking up multiple books throughout the week, and then try to finish them on the weekend.

    1. Oh, honey! I think it’s an incredible idea, I strongly support the idea of DNF more books, especially if you’re not really enjoying them, because I don’t see the meaning to continue while you could be reading and enjoying something else, right? & that’s a GREAT idea, I’ll try myself with multiples books at once and see how it goes, I’m not sure if it will be for me, but I’m dying to see how it turns out 😍
I wish you GOOD LUCK for your 2020, I’m sure it will be wonderful❤️

  3. I hope you enjoy Serpent & Dove if you pick it up again, I’ve heard such fantastic things about it and it sounds amazing. Good luck getting these read by the end of the year (: hopefully I’ll be reading Red, White & Royal Blue soon too – I just have no idea where I am in the waiting list. Although at least the wait will hopefully give me a chance to get back into reading first anyway.
