🌻 Hi guys!! I hope you’re having the best day & you’re enjoying your reading 💞 Today I bring you my beloved Wrap Up of the month of September, where I’ll talk about all the books I’ve read during the month. OMG, this month really flew by, I mean, where did it go? It seems yesterday when it was just beginning, it’s crazy. Being totally honest right now, I’ve nothing really crazy or excited to tell you about this month in terms of my life as such, I’m SO boring 😅, it was quiet, relaxing I guess, and I’ve been trying to connect more with myself during September, I’ve been meditating, which is really helping me a lot with my anxiety. Spring began where I live, so right now I’m quite envious of all those who are going through my beautiful Autumn 🍂 , I swear that autumn is my favorite season, I love the landscapes and the weather a lot, so enjoy it for me. 😭
As you know, I’ve changed many things on the blog and it makes me happy that most of you liked, honestly. 🥰
In terms of reading month, has really been an AMAZING month, in fact, it’s my best month of the year so far 🎊, if I know, WHAT! LOL. I’m super excited, I didn’t expect to read so much cause I had honestly gone into this weird moment where I didn’t know what I wanted to read and wasn’t sure, so I decided to follow my intuition and it was perfect, I found books that I LOVED, so I really can’t complain. You’ll see a little as I did in terms of number in my statistics section, but I’m really very pleased with what I’ve achieved because even though I have several short books, I’m proud of myself. 😊
I’ve read the ARCs that I set out to, so that’s always good, I have a couple of short stories that have surprised me, both for good and for bad, actually. Then we have another small stack of books that were very anticipated by me, and I think that in general, I’ve enjoyed most of the things I’ve read. I’ve even given a couple of 5 stars, and you know that’s weird for me, so YAY, celebrate with me!!! 🥳
I participated, as always, in the Contemporary-a-Thon, in the link you can see all the information related to it, and the truth is that I LOVE this read-a-thon, it’s one of my favorites, I always find very good books when I participate and this time wasn’t the exception. In fact, OMG, I almost forgot to mention it, a miracle happened and you know what? … I COMPLETED ALL THE CHALLENGES!! *victory dance*
I think that setting a more realistic goal was a good idea, so super happy with the results.
I’m dying to start talking to you about the books, tell you a little about my statistics and share some of my faves post of the month. So, let’s start! 🌻

🌻 With the Fire on High by Elizabeth Acevedo || Loved this book, I think it’s the perfect mix between touching a serious and important theme but at the same time put humor and adorable moments to the plot. We follow on a girl who’s a teenage mother and has the idea of becoming a recognized chef one day as she loves to cook and also does it in a wonderful way, almost magically according to her grandmother says. She’s Afro/Latina and I love that, I loved the Latin representation, I’ve been looking for a type of book like this one for a while, so I’m happy to have come across it. I adore her ´Buela, there are many things in this book which I felt super identified with, so soon you’ll know more in my full review, which I already have written but I still have to edit and upload to the blog, I promise that soon. Even if I don’t enjoy culinary scenes very much because it’s not my thing, I think it’s a GREAT book and I highly recommend it.
🌻 Heartstopper: Volume One (Heartstopper #1) by Alice Oseman || OMG, this book!!! Why did nobody tell me was so beautiful, adorable and easy to read? I really LOVED it. Graphic novels aren’t usually my thing, but this little story is perfect, I enjoyed every second of it, and I swear that in the ending, I felt I had known the characters for a long time, which means so much to me. Here below, I’ll leave my brief thoughts immediately after reading it, so you can get all excited with me
OMG, that was….. SO adorable, I CAN’T!!! 😍
I hope the author decides to do about a thousand more of these because I’ll need it to live. Charlie & Nick are so sweet, and this is a simple but meaningful and beautiful story at the same time, I’m full of feelings just, LOVED IT. There’s not much to say because it’s very short but absolutely worth it…It’s about self-discovery, innocence, and love, if you haven’t read it yet, YOU MUST DO IT, you’ll not regret it.
I hope nobody dares to hurt my babies, I’m dying to continue with volume 2
🌻 The Grownup by Gillian Flynn || God, I really don’t know what to think about this book yet, it was SO WEIRD and BIZARRE. It felt a lot like an introduction, rather than a short story as such. It ends very openly and I know that it tries to convey a mystery and an interesting tension, and I appreciate that but I think it’s the only thing I can take from the story. Since it starts it doesn’t make much sense, but it has a pretty cool twist at the end, although it also leaves you doubting a lot. If the plot of the book had been developed, then maybe I could have committed to it in another way, but hey, I guess it was correct, although it wasn’t much more than that.

🌻 Shadow Me (Shatter Me #4.5) by Tahereh Mafi || LOVED this little Kenji’s POV, was all I needed at the time when I took it so I’m happy. I also have a super-mini review of when I had just finished reading it to share with you. || BOOK REVIEW ||
🌻 Evidence of the Affair by Taylor Jenkins Reid || Once again the author proves how incredible her stories are, regardless of their size. This little story told through letters, has left me with all the feelings. In general, cheating plots aren’t my favorites, but OMG, this is a masterpiece. It’s very well thought out, written and that ending is surprising. The characters as always 10/10. || BOOK REVIEW ||

🌻 The Grey Sisters by Jo Treggiari || I feel so bad for this book because I really wanted to love it, in fact, I was somewhat excited because the girl in the cover looks a lot like me, I swear lol. But sadly I didn’t enjoy it and although I put in Goodreads that my full review was about to come, I have to be honest with you … I think I’ll not write a full review of it. I have some thoughts written already, which are the ones I’ll share with you right now, and I think it will be the ones I’ll also publish. I know it sounds very unprofessional because this is an ARC, but you know that I ALWAYS write my reviews and I think I’m quite responsible in regard to that and the pub dates. This time there’s something in me that’s not interested, and I wouldn’t like to write something that I’m not proud of, I also know that I ‘ll simply talk badly about the book, which I don’t enjoy doing, so I’ll keep what I have and hope that’s enough, at least it’s honest.
I’m so sad I didn’t enjoy this book, especially since I usually love plots that involve relationships between siblings, but this time it didn’t work for me, at all. I liked the beginning but every time it gets more and more confusing and I had to confess that was kind of hard to finish it. The jumps between the POVs are very weird and make the reading flow confusing, especially due to changes from first to the third person. I couldn’t connect with the characters and the story itself ended up taking a direction I didn’t expect and didn’t enjoy. Maybe I could give the author another chance in the future because there’s potential in her writing style
🌻 Relic by Bronwyn Eley || This book was a fascinating surprise, I didn’t expect to like it so much but WOW, an INCREDIBLE fantasy book!
Being part of the promotion of the first work of an author, and that it’s this good is a double pleasure, because I recommend it delighted.
I’ll repeat something that I also mention in my review … If you like character-driven stories, you’ll surely enjoy this one. I also think it’s dark, captivating and you can get hooked with the plot very easily. I hope you decide to read, it’s the author’s first book and she needs our support, and besides that, this is INCREDIBLY written. || BOOK REVIEW ||

🌻 The Devouring Gray (The Devouring Gray #1) by Christine Lynn Herman || Today, when it’s been a while since I read it, I can say that I think it’s a great story, not only it’s unique but it also manages to keep you at the edge of your seat, and in the end, I’m super excited for the next book. It’s also very atmospheric which I adore. Even so, I can’t stop telling you that not everything has been very positive for me, it has taken me a lot of time to read it, I had problems with the writing style and the paced of the story, I think that problem affects all my reading experience. I can see the great potential and I can say that it’s a good book, though. But it wasn’t what I expected. I want to read the following book especially because my queen Harper is the best thing in the book. || BOOK REVIEW ||
🌻 The Nowhere Girls by Amy Reed || This book is POWERFUL and that’s the best word to describe it. Actually, I started reading it in August but I finished it in September so that’s why it’s here.
This book isn’t only diverse since we know characters of all ethnicities, sizes, sexualities, and religions, but it also touches a super delicate issue such as rapes and presents us with these terrible things happening in a small town where nobody does anything about it. So, some girls create a group called “The Nowhere Girls” to support the victims and also try to change things once and for all.
It’s a BEAUTIFUL book, I know that it’s obviously hard-hitting and heartbreaking, but when you think about it and what it’s capable of transmitting to each reader there’s no other word to say that it’s wonderful and hopefully all the books will leave a message as powerful as this one.
In addition, sexuality is discussed a lot, especially among women and empowerment as well. I would honestly be talking wonders about it forever, it’s very good.
I highly recommend it if you haven’t read it yet. You may need to be in a correct mental state because it contains a lot of trigger situations, but even so, if you’re able to cope with that, I think it’s a book that will leave you something when you finish reading it. || BOOK REVIEW ||
