Review
“And it seemed to me that Dante’s face was a map of the world. A world without any darkness.
Wow, a world without darkness. How beautiful was that?”
Oh guys, this book is too short !, I’ve been wanting for more.
It’s definitely a great surprise to me that this book has liked me as much as it did, since I’m more a fan of fantasy than this kind of story, I thought it would be hard for me to get involved with the plot, but the truth is that It was incredible easy.
The plot is told in first person by Aristotle, who is a child of a mexican family , he’s introverted ,he has trouble fitting with kids his age, until one day he meets Dante who is an outgoing and funny guy with which begins a friendship…
“Words were different when they lived inside of you.”
I feel many things right now, the plot is so varied that I think that has been one of the things by which I kept so engaged with the book, because, even when is one the main subject of the book, I think the writer could handle with the story in a unique way, that we can touch and feel family’s issues , love, sadness, loss, friendship and above all acceptance.
Ari is a great main character, there were times that I wanted to yell at him to do the things he should it do LOL, but still, I really liked him, we see this character grow as a human being and make very difficult choices for him, but those same decisions he has taken are why I have loved him more every time. The transition through which he has to pass, his fight against himself, and his trouble accepting what he really feel was very exciting, and I ended for being very proud of him and and for his growth :).
Dante is my favorite character, he just could not be more perfect, this guy is adorable at least 90% of the book, is intelligent, curious, creative and one of the things which I liked more about him is that he simply could not shut up his mouth for anything.
“I bet you could sometimes find all the mysteries of the universe in someone’s hand.”
The moments of these guys together have given me so many emotions and feelings, I will always remember them, in addition, I also think this is one of those books where I found most beautiful quotes.
P.D: Parents of this story with your problems and all, are the most loving people that I’ve read.
One of my favourites – so happy you liked it!
